How can Substack help creators with their overall business strategy?

Diversified portfolio - multiple streams of revenue are just good business.

Easy to use and get started but I don’t see how it is easier to build than any other newsletter/subscription platform.

My suggestion is to test it. See how your audience gravitates to your content on there before you make any major financial commitments.

Can I add pencil on top of my dry brush oil painting? Reason being it's easier to draw darker hair colour. Will pencil lead and oil paint interact and cause something horrible?

Build a greater connection with your audience through a premium Newsletter.

I just started mine, but unlike a few, I am not completely abandoning Medium or Beehiiv.
